Which Philippine consulate serves Toledo
Every Philippine procedure for a Ohio resident goes through Chicago: its district is Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Distances from the other cities in the state are on the Ohio page.
At 241 miles, Toledo is a serious drive from the consulate: 4 h 37 min before you park. Confirm by email that your file is complete rather than discovering a gap at the window.
Ohio also has a Philippine Honorary Consulate in Cleveland, under the consulate in Chicago. Its page gives the contact details from the official lists; passports and dual citizenship are booked with Chicago.
Three procedures that skip the consulate entirely
Check this list first, it covers most of the reasons people book an appointment they did not need:
- Your PSA birth certificate or CENOMAR has to come from Manila. No consular office in this country can print one, and every other procedure asks for it.
- An apostille is issued by the Secretary of State of whichever state produced the document. The consulate stopped authenticating on 15 May 2019.
- For an NBI clearance the whole file travels by mail, and the NBI accepts fingerprints taken by a consulate or by a police station.
The counter is unavoidable for passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can also be done by a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate. Everything else deserves a second look before you drive.
philippineconsulates.us is an independent information guide to the Philippine consulates in the United States. We are not the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Embassy or any government agency. We do not book, sell or manage appointments: every consulate runs its own system. We check the details regularly, but they can change without notice, always confirm with the consulate before you travel.
