Philippine Consulate in Waipahu, HI

Waipahu does not have its own Philippine consulate. It is served by the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, 16 miles away, about 29 min by road, and every appointment, passport and notarial act for Waipahu residents happens there.

Where Waipahu is served from

The assignment is by state: the whole of Hawaii belongs to the consulate in Honolulu, whose district covers Hawaii and American Samoa. The detail, including how far each city in the state is from the consulate, is on the Hawaii page.

At 16 miles, Waipahu is effectively in the consulate's own catchment: 29 min door to door. The binding constraint here is not distance, it is appointment availability.

Before you plan the trip from Waipahu

Check this list first, it covers most of the reasons people book an appointment they did not need:

  • PSA certificates: the Philippine Statistics Authority prints them, not the consulate. You order them on the web and they arrive by courier.
  • Apostilles on American documents come from the issuing state’s competent authority. Since 15 May 2019 the consulate cannot authenticate them.
  • The NBI clearance is issued in the Philippines. The fingerprint card can be done at a consulate or, the NBI says, at the nearest police station.

What does require appearing in person is your biometrics for a passport and the oath of allegiance. A special power of attorney can be signed before a consular officer or before a local notary and then apostilled, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate.

philippineconsulates.us is an independent information guide to the Philippine consulates in the United States. We are not the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Embassy or any government agency. We do not book, sell or manage appointments: every consulate runs its own system. We check the details regularly, but they can change without notice, always confirm with the consulate before you travel.
