Philippine Consulate in Vallejo, CA
Filipinos in Vallejo are covered by the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, 31 miles away, about 44 min by road. There is no consular office in Vallejo itself, but there is more that can be done from home than most people expect, and it is worth checking before booking anything.
Where Vallejo is served from
California is one of only two states whose Philippine jurisdiction runs by county. Vallejo is in Solano County, so its consulate is San Francisco, not the consulate in Los Angeles, however convenient it may look on a map. The county table is on the California page.
The run from Vallejo is 44 min over 31 miles. Close enough not to need a hotel, far enough that arriving without a complete file is an expensive mistake.
Three procedures that skip the consulate entirely
Three of the most searched Philippine procedures in the United States are not consular procedures at all:
- PSA certificates, birth, marriage, death and CENOMAR are issued in Manila and ordered online, delivered to any US address.
- An apostille is issued by the Secretary of State of whichever state produced the document. The consulate stopped authenticating on 15 May 2019.
- NBI clearance: posted to Manila, returned by post. Do not send the application to a consulate, it will not be processed there.
The counter is unavoidable for passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can also be done by a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate. Everything else deserves a second look before you drive.
philippineconsulates.us is an independent information guide to the Philippine consulates in the United States. We are not the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Embassy or any government agency. We do not book, sell or manage appointments: every consulate runs its own system. We check the details regularly, but they can change without notice, always confirm with the consulate before you travel.
